Oasis Group Limited

Our Story

An Indigenous Nigerian
Investment Group

Founded with a vision to build a diversified portfolio of high-yielding assets and businesses that create lasting value for stakeholders across Nigeria.

Our Founder

Built on Entrepreneurial Spirit

Oasis Group Limited was founded in 1981 by Chief (Dr.) Samuel Igbayilola Adegbite OFR — a visionary entrepreneur who recognised the opportunity to build a diversified, indigenous investment holding company at the heart of the Nigerian economy.

From its origins in Lagos, the Group has grown to encompass three core business verticals: asset management, property development, and packaging manufacturing — each led by seasoned professionals with deep sector expertise.

Today, Oasis Group serves some of Nigeria's best-managed companies and high-net-worth individuals, leveraging decades of trust, relationships, and operational excellence.

Late Chief (Dr.) S. I. Adegbite OFR

Founder & Former Group Chairman

Chief (Dr.) Samuel Igbayilola Adegbite, OFR was the founder of the Oasis Group and one of Nigeria's most respected bankers and entrepreneurs. During a distinguished career spanning banking, business, and public service, he held several leadership positions, including Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Wema Bank, where he served from 1984 to 1998 — the longest-serving CEO in the bank's history — and played a pivotal role in stabilising and transforming the institution.

A passionate advocate for education, healthcare, and community development, he established institutions and initiatives that continue to create lasting social impact. His vision, values, and commitment to excellence remain at the heart of the Oasis Group today.
